Helping keep Pixham crime free

On the subject of Neighbourhood Watch our aim to have Pixham completely 'watched' by a group of volunteer co-ordinators is proceeding well. Utilising the wonderful efforts of both existing co-ordinators and also welcoming new co-ordinators we now have the area from the part of the Lane where the 'traffic management system' i.e. the narrowed part, west to the A24 is completely 'watched'. Pixholme Grove and the houses opposite the Cricket Field are now covered, as are Swan Mill Gardens and the houses opposite. I am delighted to say that Leslie Road now has a 'watcher' and Chester Close is completely covered by their existing 4 co-ordinators.

If you live in any of the above areas and are unaware of your Co-ordinators' contact details please contact me and I will be happy to advise. The only areas we still need some help with are Downs View, Redcote Place, Riverside, and the houses on the East side of Pixham Lane from the Church up to the  A25. The role does not take a great deal of time, does not involve dressing up in a Policemans' uniform or 'having a go'. It is more about  liason, building good neighbour relations and fostering community spirit. In fact just some of  the objectives of Pixham Residents Association! It really only formalises what most good neighbours do anyway, keeping a  watchful eye open.

Joining a scheme, which costs nothing, keeps you  updated with the latest crime prevention and home security information  and, depending on your insurance company, may qualify you for a discount  on your policy. If you would like more information about the role of  a Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator please contact Roger Mortimore at the following: rogermortimore@kbic.co.uk or telephone on 01306 885440.
