Pixham Resident's Association Keeping Up With The Jones'

As a newly established association we are keen to ensure we are getting things right for the residents of Pixham. With that in mind we want to call on and learn from the expertise of others. One way we can do this is to talk to our neighbours about their success.

We met recently with the Chairman of the Westhumble Resident's Association, Peter Bunn. Peter very kindly gave us an evening of his time to talk to us about the Westhumble format, the activities they undertake, what works and what doesn't. They have been established for several years and so we felt they must be doing something right! Overall, It was a great opportunity for us to discuss our current initiatives and plans to check that we are going in the right direction.

So what did we find out? Very encouragingly, we found out that we have made a great start. We have the correct format, we are making the right contacts and even more importantly we are doing the right things. We have lots of initiatives progressing at pace. Not least our Speedwatch and Pixham Identity initiatives are full speed ahead.

And what did we learn from Westhumble? We learnt that they are very focused on those issues that matter to their whole community. They are realistic in their approach and do not bite off more than they can chew. They are also keen for us to support each other and a Pixham vs Westhumble Rounders Match could be in the planning!!

We hope you agree that things are going well but we need to keep learning and your feedback and help will be invaluable. We have lots of local people doing some great work - but we're always looking for more. To be successful we need to have your ideas, your support and your participation.

If you feel that you can contribute more, have ideas to improve Pixham or have suggestions for other organisations/groups that we should meet then let us know. Please feel free to contact any of the Committee or Taskforce members at anytime.
