I am starting a course of drawing and painting at the St. Mary's Church Hall, Pixham Lane under the title PixhamArt. This begins on September 16th from 2.30 to 5.00pm on Wednesdays for 10 weeks. (Not October 28th).

Students will be taught to draw from observation, as well as understanding perspective. They will develop from line through seeing negative shapes, to making compositions. They will be taught the principles of colour use and creation of depth on the flat plane. They will progress to watercolour and acrylic picture making.

As a practicing artist with a lifetime of practice as a graphic designer (retired), I have returned to my roots as an artist and teacher. I taught successfully for some time at Ruxley Lane Adult Education centre. My philosophy is that anyone can learn to paint and draw, given the right instruction. My point was proven by getting young students into art college and one mum through to exhibiting in the Royal Academy. (She became a published flower artist). I have also taught at various colleges as a visiting lecturer in art and design. These include Epsom, Norwich, Hull and Reigate Schools of Art. I am a fellow of the Society of Industrial Artists (Now the CSD) and a member of the Dorking Group of Artists. I originally studied at Croydon Art College (NDD).

I attach a flyer (see below). There are so many people who do not have the confidence to draw or paint but who would love to.
I aim to provide that confidence.

Best Wishes,

Richard Waldron
